Pre-School Ballet, Jazz and Tap

Children love to dance and dance classes can nurture talent and spark the creativity of tiny dancers whilst positively impacting a child’s physical, emotional, and mental health. Dance classes for children are an activity that can be started at any age and include a variety of different dance styles. Dancing is also a way for children to learn self-expression whilst developing gross motor skills and coordination. Most importantly, dancing is a fun way for them to release their energy and excitement!

The Pre-School, Ballet, Jazz and Tap System of Training

This System of Training introduces children from two to five years of age to the magic and fun of mime, music and dance with activities that will enable them to explore space, to develop musicality and to improve co-ordination in the desired genre chosen.

Teachers have the opportunity to use their own imagination and ideas and will be provided with introductory notes, including methods of teaching movement in a creative way to this specific age group. Musical accompaniment with audio sound effects are provided to captivate and motivate the students.

There are three levels of dance assessment for Ballet, Tap and Jazz.  These are available specifically for teachers to introduce dance and movement to younger children.  This is an introduction to the assessment process, ensuring that students enjoy a fun and exciting activity to participate in.

The children are assessed on participation and involvement in the lesson, not on dance technique, ability or timing.  This provides an opportunity for small children to be introduced to the assessment procedures in a relaxed and familiar environment.  It also allows the teacher to take the students for a normal class with a special visitor (the examiner) as their guest for a class.

Following completion of the assessment, children receive a medal and a written report of positive comments. Participating in an assessment has numerous benefits including providing parents and the teacher with an opportunity to build self-confidence and pride.

Some benefits of this programme include the development of listening and social skills, improvement of fine and gross motor skills and the development of self expression.

This System of Training comes with extensive written notes and accompanying CD.

“Don’t let anyone dull your sparkle” – just fluff out your tutu and dance away!
