2023 Membership

 

As we get close to the holiday period, we would like to advise a change to the process of renewing your membership. Early in January you will receive an email from ATOD advising that your membership fees are now due and payable. You will be asked to click on a link to process payment. As part of this new process you will be asked to set up your membership as a renewing subscription that will occur at the same time again in 2024. This is just another way that ATOD is streamlining the administration of membership to make things easier!

 

Opportunity for Affiliate Membership Upgrade

 

Recently, ATOD held an extraordinary general meeting to consider changes to the membership section of the constitution. One of the changes that has been approved by the voting members is to allow for a new process for current Affiliate Members to apply for full membership. Full membership provides the opportunity to nominate for the board, vote at AGMs and EGMs and to take advantage of special discounts. Previously this involved sitting the ATOD Associate Teacher Qualification. However it has been recognised that this is not always a feasible option for dance teachers to complete.

 

Any Affiliate Member wishing to become a Full Member still has the option of completing the Associate Teacher Exam OR they can choose this new application process instead. They must first meet some prerequisites. These include having been a member for at least three years and entered students into exams at least two of those years. They must also hold as a minimum a Certificate IV level or higher dance teaching qualification or hold a teaching qualification from another dance organisation that is equivalent or higher than the ATOD Associate Teacher qualification.
