Teri is the owner and artistic director of In Sync Centre of the Arts, Inc. in Quincy, Massachusetts, USA and is passionate about sharing her journey and helping fellow studio owners achieve their optimal success.

In their 25th season and with a staff of over 25 people, In Sync currently teaches over 1,600 students weekly in various dance, toddler, music, and theatre programmes. As the mother of two teenage boys, Teri works hard at maintaining the balance of family life, creative artist, and business owner.

Teri is also an active speaker at the DanceLife Retreat Centre, DanceLife Teacher Conference, International Dance Entrepreneurs Association, and Hollywood Connections.

The most important mission of her life is to be the best Mum she can possibly be while running a successful business and living the example that both things are possible by paving your own path.

Teri is thrilled to have the opportunity to share her experience with Australian Teachers of Dancing and is looking forward to meeting more fascinating people who share her passions.

Nicole has enjoyed a diverse dance career which has included dancing in musicals and operas, winning the World Amateur Latin American championship in 1967 and being involved in the production of Nureyev’s version of ‘Don Quixote’ in 1970.

She then began teaching in partnership with her mother at the Binzer Schools of Ballet and Modern Dance in Glen Waverley, Melbourne until moving to Queensland with her family in 1977. 

Nicole holds a Dip ABS, RAD, Licentiate, a Graduate Diploma (The Australian Ballet School 1969) and is a Life Member, Examiner and Licentiate (ATOD). She is also a Life Member and Registered Teacher, Royal Academy of Dance (RAD).

In 1979 Ashfield Ballet School was opened in Cleveland and this very quickly grew into one of the largest and most successful ballet schools in Redlands City (near Brisbane).

Nicole has been an examiner for Australian Teachers of Dancing since its inception in 1991, was made a life member in 2006 and was awarded the Avril Binzer Memorial Award for services and dedication to ATOD.  She was also an integral member of the core committee for the new ATOD Classical Ballet and National Character System of Training, working with Mark Pace to complete the Advanced Classical Ballet Syllabus in 2019. 

Adam is a Tasmanian born contemporary dance artist. He is a Stompin and Victorian College of the Arts Alumni whose practice is curious on diversifying how dance can be experienced both as a performer and viewer. He has invested the better part of his 20 year career developing programmes and projects in the pursuit of enhancing how young people connect with dance and enter the professional dance industry in Australia.

Adam’s performance and teaching career have always been closely intertwined with him receiving his first Federal grant in 2001 to present his first work before beginning his formal dance training at the VCA. 

Adam’s performance career has seen him work with Chunky Move, Jo Lloyd, Circa Nica, 2NDTOE and Opera Australia. In 2007 he founded 2NDTOE with long time colleagues Frankie Snowdon, Madeleine Krenek, Benjamin Hancock, Tyler Hawkins and James Andrews. The collective made several works together and created a number of education works including founding the Alice Can Dance programme (Alice Springs).

Adam has been commissioned to make work across the country and has choreographed for Lucy Guerin Inc (Pieces for Small Spaces), Stompin, QL2, Steps Youth Dance Company, fLing Physical Theatre, Tasdance and was a Next Move choreographer in 2011 for Chunky Move with It Sounds Silly. The success of It Sounds Silly was the launching pad for Adam to create Yellow Wheel and he has only recently stepped down as the Artistic Director.

Between 2014-2018 Adam was working in the VET industry as the Artistic Director of The Space School of Performance Arts (2014-2016) and Head of Contemporary Development at Transit (2018). Over this time he was also commissioned to choreograph the Contemporary System of Training for Australian Teachers of Dancing, which is taught all over Australia and south east Asia.  He is currently the Artistic Director of TasDance.

Paul Singh is the manager of the Tamworth City Dance Academy (TCDA) which he operates alongside his wife and TCDA Principal, Kellie.  Having earned a Bachelor of Arts (Communication), Diploma of Public Safety and Diploma of Marketing, Paul has enjoyed a diverse career as Commercial Photographer and Designer and Forensic Investigator with the NSW Police before joining TCDA a decade ago.

His business and marketing strategies have seen TCDA recognised with first place awards for Excellence in Customer Service at the Tamworth Quality Business Awards, Regional Business Awards and NSW State Business Awards as well as being named Regional Business of the year in 2019.  Paul was named Equity Advocate Man of the Year by the Zonta Club of Tamworth at the 2020 International Women’s Day Awards.

No two dance schools are exactly alike, and it is by recognising and enhancing the studio’s unique characteristics and points of difference that busines owners can formulate strategies for success.  Paul will discuss approaches to self-awareness, imaging, business planning and promotion that will not only grow your student body, but also galvanise your existing dance family.

Jackie has almost 30 years of commitment to the growth and development of young people. She has dedicated her life to empowering them and helping them to realise their full potential and self worth and values every opportunity she is given to change lives. With 37 years of performance experience including television, festivals, conventions, educational events, competitions and world dance events, Jackie has vast performance, choreographic and educational experience working with prolific choreographers and companies.

Complementing her passion and application in the Arts is her solid business experience. Her career roles to date have included Director, Venue Manager, Sales and Marketing Manager and Functions and Events Manager.

Along with her commitment to the performing arts industry and the training of young people within it. Jackie holds a Bachelor of Arts (Dance and Drama), a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts Honours (under scholarship) all from Deakin University where she was awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Award for outstanding creative product. She also holds many further qualifications including Diploma of Dance, Diploma of Musical Theatre and a Certificate IV in TAE.

Jackie is continuously engaging in research and professional development and is particularly interested in growth mindset and all issues facing the youth of today. As the founder of Keep Kids Safe In Dance, she leads workshops, outreach and support programmes, awareness campaigns, seminars and research and development in all fields associated with safety in dance.

Jackie has mentored many thousands of young people over three continents for almost 30 years, in dance schools, educational facilities and membership organisations. This included working for six years in London as Head of Dance and Drama and Head of the Gifted and Talented programme at an inner city comprehensive school serving an ethnically diverse community in a socially very deprived area.  During this time, Jackie was engaged in a significant amount of professional development both internally at the school and externally and worked closely with social services, the police, families, inclusion teams and other stakeholders in child abuse cases. These challenging environments lead Jackie to wok in

the area of disadvantaged youth and the arts.

Jackie understands the value of empowering communities and providing the means to a voice and is immensely passionate about being the best mentor possible to all those she meets.
